Gianna Chase of Scranton, Pa., Performs in 'All the King's Women' Sept. 25-28

2014 Sep 19

Gianna Chase of Scranton, Pa., will perform in Wilkes University Theatre's production of "All the King's Women," a comedy by Luigi Jannuzzi, Sept. 25 to 28. Performances are being held nightly at 8 p.m. in the Dorothy Dickson Darte Center, with a Sunday matinee performance at 2 p.m. Chase, a freshman musical theatre major, is playing the role of Abby, Steve Allen's secretary; Mona, a Cadillac salesperson; and a gift shop employee. Chase is the daughter of Calvin and Andrea Chase.

Directed by Wilkes' director of theatre Teresa Fallon, "All the King's Women" tells the story of Elvis Presley from the perspective of 17 different women; "some enthralled, some appalled, all obsessed!" The compilation of five one-act comedies and three monologues takes audiences from Tupelo, Mississippi, where 12-year-old Elvis wants a BB gun instead of a guitar, to The Steve Allen Show, President Nixon's office, Andy Warhol's studio and Graceland. The comedy promises to bring the entire family together and leave audiences with a new appreciation for "The King."
