Kayla Bardzel of Falls, PA Attended The Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association Legislative Day With Fellow Students of Wilkes University's Nesbitt School of Pharmacy on April 19

2017 May 10

Kayla Bardzel of Falls, PA and fellow classmates of Wilkes University's Nesbitt School of Pharmacy attended Pennsylvania Pharmacy Day at the capitol in Harrisburg on April 19. Thirty-two students along with faculty members Tom Franko and Judith Kristeller participated in the day organized by the Pennsylvania Pharmacy Association. The theme for the day was "Putting Patients First," advocating that pharmacists always put their patients first.

The students focused on the opposition to the proposed cuts in the PACE program and asked legislators that the revised pharmacy reimbursement in Medicaid be established at a fair level for pharmacies.

Over 400 pharmacists and student pharmacists had over 170 appointments with legislators throughout the day, and also held a press conference and rally in the main rotunda at the Capitol.
