Wilkes University 2016 Pharmacy Graduate Erika Green of Kingston, Pa. Pursues Post-Graduate Training

Erika Green of Kingston, Pa. (18704), is one of 27 Wilkes University 2016 Doctor of Pharmacy graduates who will pursue post-graduate training, which represents more than one-third of the graduating class and the most graduates ever placed. Ninety percent of the Wilkes pharmacy students who entered the match got into a residency program, which is higher than the national average of 66 percent. Green will pursue a residency at PerformRx, Philadelphia, Pa.

Post-graduate training in the pharmacy field includes residencies, fellowships and doctorate programs. Although not required for practice, the training allows pharmacists to work in advanced positions within the profession. Residencies may be a one- or two-year commitment, and fellowships follow a two-year specialized track.
