Wilkes University Student Ana Rahman of Mountain Top, Pa., Participates in Summer Research

Ana Rahman of Mountain Top, Pa., is one of 30 Wilkes University students participating in summer research projects. Rahman is working with professors Jeffrey Stratford in the biology department. Students are identifying contributory factors leading to the decline of the wood thrush population. Students are tracking nests to see the effect as well as disease rates. They are also looking for forest nests to catch adult birds to examine blood diseases. Students are also examining biodiversity in grasslands by collecting plants and insects as well as capturing small mammals and birds. Rahman is a biology major.
