Wilkes University Student Autumn Peck of Shamokin, Pa., Selected to Perform with Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Band Festival

2017 Dec 7

Wilkes University student Autumn Peck of Shamokin, Pa., was one of three Wilkes students selected to perform with the Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Band Festival at Mansfield University on Feb. 23-25. The Wilkes students were recommended by Philip Simon, associate professor of music and director of the bands and chosen from a group of more than 200 student applicants throughout the state. A total of 115 musicians will form the Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Band, the oldest continuously performing state intercollegiate ensemble in the nation. This is the fifth year Peck will perform at the festival. Peck, a pharmacy major, plays the clarinet.

The guest conductor this year is Mark Camphouse, director of bands at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., and one of the nation's leading composers and conductors of band music.
