Wilkes University Student Bethany Chmil Attends Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity Grand Council Convention in Naples, Fla.

Wilkes University student, Bethany Chmil of Hanover Township, Pa., was one of six students to travel to Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity 58 Grand Council Convention from Aug. 1-5 in Naples, Fla. The university's chapter, Delta Omicron, was named a Top Performing Chapter for the 2016-2017 school year. Out of 110 collegiate chapters, Delta Omicron was one of 36 chapters to receive the award, earning 93 percent of the points possible on measures such as community service and organization involvement.

Every chapter of Kappa is eligible for the honor. The award is given to a chapter that earns 85 percent or greater on the Chapter of the Year form.

About the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy:

The Nesbitt School of Pharmacy, which is the region's only school of pharmacy, celebrated the 20-year anniversary in 2016 of its first graduating class receiving the doctor of pharmacy degree. The school's mission is to develop pharmacists who will provide high quality health care and make meaningful contributions to the science and practice of pharmacy. The school awards the doctor of pharmacy degree, the primary, entry-level pharmacy practice degree in the United States.
