Wilkes University Student, Ellen Weber of Gettysburg, Pa., Lands Internship at Smithsonian Environmental Research Center in Annapolis, Md.

Wilkes University junior Ellen Weber of Gettysburg, Pa., will intern with the solar radiation and photobiology lab at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center in Annapolis, Md., this summer. The earth and environmental science major will make a wetlands model to predict the response of wetlands biogeochemical cycling to climate change.

Recently, Weber was awarded funds for her proposal to the Northeastern Geological Society of America Stephen A. Pollock undergraduate research grant. Weber's research focuses on paleoclimates.
