Wilkes University Student Gianna Chase, of Scranton, Pa., Takes the Stage in Production of A Chorus Line April 12-15

2018 Mar 20

Gianna Chase of Scranton, Pa., is performing in Wilkes University Theatre's production of A Chorus Line, April 12-15. Chase is playing the role of Shelia. The performances will take place on April 12, 13 and 14 at 8 p.m. with matinee performances on April 14 and 15 at 2 p.m. The production will occur at Wilkes' Dorothy Dickson Darte Center for the Performing Arts, 239 S. River St.

This 1975 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning musical captures all the spirit and ambitious tension of dancers auditioning for the chorus line of a Broadway show. A Chorus Line follows these stories of Broadway gypsies as they bare their souls and put their lives "on the line" as they audition for an unnamed Broadway musical. The musical focuses not just on the glamour of Broadway but on the heartbreak of being on stage.

The production is directed by Wilkes University Theatre's Joseph C. Dawson, associate dean and professor of theatre. Musical direction is provided by Ken McGraw, music theater director, and choreography by faculty of practice Lynne Mariani.

General admission is $10, $5 for students and seniors and free for all Wilkes students, faculty and staff with ID. Parking is available at the Henry Student Center along with handicapped accessible options. For more information, please call the box office at 570-408-4540.
