Wilkes University Student Pharmacist Taylor Hodle Attends Primary Care Progress Annual Gregg Stracks Leadership Summit Aug. 18-20 in Minneapolis, Minn.

Wilkes University student pharmacist Taylor Hodle of Dallas, Pa., was selected to attend the Primary Care Progress annual Gregg Stracks Leadership Summit Aug. 18-20 in Minneapolis, Minn. The summit is an invitation-only two-day training program that brings together faculty, student, and professional leaders from across Primary Care Progress' national network. Consisting of hands-on, interactive sessions, attendees learn how to thrive in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment by building leadership competencies critical for team building, advocacy, and change management. Hodle is the first Wilkes student to attend the conference.

"The conference was absolutely incredible," Hodle said. "It was unlike any conference I've been to before. The motivation of the people involved in the organization was infectious."

Through her participation in this summit, Hodle will also be involved in a leadership initiative with Geisinger Commonwealth Medical College and The Wright Center for Graduate Education called "The Catalyst Project." The initiative brings together students from health professions throughout the region to receive individualized leadership training, coaching, and mentoring from a regional coach, as well as other Primary Care Progress national staff and subject matter experts. Each team will learn hands-on, cutting-edge leadership practices essential for team building, change management, and community engagement all while working collaboratively with the local community to improve primary care delivery.
