Wilkes University Student Samantha Bickert of York Springs, Pa., Volunteers for Alternative Spring Break

More than 60 Wilkes University students, faculty and staff particpated in the annual Alternative Spring Break from March 2-9. Students participating in the program spend their spring break performing community service to help people in this country and around the world. Destinations for Wilkes' 2013 Alternative Spring Break were Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Missouri, and New Orleans.

Samantha Bickert of York Springs, Pa., volunteered in the Dominican Republic Bickert is a senior at Wilkes and is majoring in pharmacy. She is the daughter of Michael and Marianne Bickert.
