MEDIA ADVISORY: Wilkes University Hosts Panamanian Cultural Day on Feb. 27
Wilkes-Barre, PA (02/26/2018) — Join Panamanian students at Wilkes University for a celebration of their culture and heritage through displays, music and dance from 10 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, Feb. 27. The event will be held in the Marts Gym, 274 S. Franklin St.
The cohort is studying at Wilkes under Panama's Ministry of Education (MEDUCA) bilingual program which brings cohorts of teachers to Wilkes and other colleges and universities in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom to study English and learn educational methods that are best practices. MEDUCA-Bilingual Panama is part of a national commitment in that country to develop bilingualism in their public schools.
