MEDIA ADVISORY: WILKES UNIVERSITY STUDENTS AND STAFF VOLUNTEER AT LOCAL BUSINESSES ON APRIL 28

It will be a big day to make a big difference when more than 250 Wilkes University students, staff and faculty members participate at the seventh annual Big Event on April 28. The event takes place from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers check in at the Henry Student Center before being transported to their volunteer sites.

Sites where volunteers are working include CEO Foodbank, Ruth's Place, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Volunteers of America, Hillside Farms, Back Mountain Trail, JCC Camp at Harvey's Lake, Luzerne County Agency for Aging as well as roadside garbage cleanups at various locations.

Volunteers will arrive at their sites between 8-9:30 a.m. They will return to campus between noon and 1 p.m. for a barbeque lunch on the greenway.

Media are invited to cover the volunteers at the different sites as they help out the community.
