MEDIA ADVISORY: WILKES UNIVERSITY STUDENTS ARE WALKING TO RAISE AWARENESS OF THE OPIOID CRISIS ON APRIL 19

Nearly 200 Wilkes University students are participating in the first Opioid Awareness Walk on April 19. The walk is organized by students in the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy and will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning at Fenner Quadrangle. The walk will proceed to Kirby Park before returning to campus. The event is raising money to purchase naloxone, a medication used to block the effects of opioid overdose, for local first responders in the surrounding community.
