MEDIA ADVISORY/PHOTO OPPORTUNITY: Wilkes University's Celebration of Education Honors Alumni Educators on Nov. 13
Wilkes-Barre, PA (11/13/2019) — Faculty, staff and students honor fellow educators during Wilkes University's Celebration of Education event. Honorees are recognized by the School of Education for their outstanding contributions on campus and in the community. Four individuals will receive three awards.
New this year is the Joseph and Barbara Bellucci Distinguished Graduate Award. It is named for Joseph and Barbara Bellucci, two longtime employees and educators who were instrumental in establishing Wilkes as a leading provider of graduate programming to teachers on campus and in distance-learning formats. The Bellucci's will also be honored at the event.
WHERE: Ballroom of the Henry Student Center, 84 W. South St., Wilkes-Barre.
WHEN: 5:30 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 13; awards and remarks begin at 6 p.m.
Awards and honorees include:
- Educator of the Year Award - Anne Thomas '70
- Joseph and Barbara Bellucci Distinguished Graduate Award - Samantha Masco M.S. '18
- The Diane Place Doctoral Dissertation Award - Charles Stricker Ed.D. '18 and Rodney Taylor Ed.D. '19
