Mountain Guide and Alpinist Chris Wright of Mountain Top Will Speak at Wilkes University on Nov. 19

Wilkes-Barre, PA (10/30/2018) — Mountain Top native Chris Wright will deliver his lecture Into the Great Ranges: from Mountain Top to the Himalayas and Beyond at 6 p.m. on Nov. 19 in room 107 in Breiseth Hall at Wilkes University, 137-159 S. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre. Wright, who is a mountain guide and alpinist, will discuss his experiences as a climber at some of the world's most challenging locations. The lecture is free and open to the public.

He found climbing while studying cinematography at New York University. He became a guide in 2006 and moved to the Pacific Northwest. He has climbed, guided and skied in locations across the world including Yosemite National Park, Alaska, New Zealand, Australia, Europe, Nepal, Africa, Mexico, the Andes and Canada. Wright made the first ascents of multiple routes on unclimbed peaks in Nepal. He also climbed the great Matterhorn in a free-solo ascent in only four hours and 15 minutes.
