Susan M. Elliott Speaks About "What Do Ambassadors Do" at Wilkes University U.N, Lecture Series on March 19

Wilkes-Barre, PA (02/25/2020) — Wilkes University's U.N. Lecture series will host Ambassador Susan M. Elliot, president and CEO of the National Committee on American Foreign Policy. She will discuss the topic "What Do Ambassadors Do?" The lecture will take place March 19 at 4 p.m. in the Miller Room on the second floor of the Henry Student Center, 84 W. South St., Wilkes-Barre. The event is free to the public.

In her 27-year diplomatic career, Elliot has served as civilian deputy and foreign policy advisor to the Commander of the United States from 2015 to 2017, as well as U.S. ambassador to Tajikistan from 2012 to 2015. Other past positions include deputy assistant secretary of state in the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, U.S. Department of State.

Presented in partnership with the Humpty Dumpty Institute's Higher Education Alliance for the United Nations, Wilkes' U.N. Lecture series brings U.N officials to campus for lectures and informal meetings with students. Wilkes University is the only northeast Pennsylvania higher education institution participating in the program.
