Wilkes University Cancels Jan. 20 Winter Commencement Due to Expected Winter Storm
Wilkes-Barre, PA (01/18/2019) — Wilkes University is canceling its winter commencement ceremony scheduled to be held on Sunday, Jan. 20, due to a major winter storm expected to impact the region. Students who were graduating at the ceremony are invited to participate in the University's spring commencement ceremony to be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019.
Winter storm watches issued by the National Weather Service indicate that conditions will be too treacherous for graduates and their families to travel to campus for Sunday's ceremony. The University will mail diplomas and copies of the commencement program to January graduates by the first week of February. For more information on the cancellation, please visit www.wilkes.edu/commencement.
