Wilkes University Civic Band Presents Concert Dec. 10

Wilkes-Barre, PA (11/28/2017) — The Wilkes University Civic Band, Chamber Ensembles and Marching Colonels will present a concert on Dec. 10, at 3 p.m. at the Dorothy Dickson Darte Center, 239 S. River St., Wilkes-Barre. Admission is free and the concert is open to the public.

The Marching Colonels will perform The Star Spangled Banner, and All I Want for Christmas Is You as well as selections from their 2017 field show including Joy, based on Ode To Joy, from Beethoven's, Symphony No.9 and There's no Place Like Home by Michael G. Giacchino.

The Civic Band will perform chamber selections from clarinet, chamber winds, percussion and brass ensemble including Caprice for Clarinet by Clare Grundman, Little Symphony for Winds by Franz Schubert, Waltz by Eugene Magalif, Vincent Persichetti's, Pageant and Haydn Wood's Mannin Veen.
