Wilkes University Civic Band Presents Concert of Music on Dec. 8

Wilkes-Barre, PA (11/19/2019) — The Wilkes University Civic Band will present a concert of music on Dec. 8 at 3 p.m. in the Dorothy Dickson Darte Center for the Performing Arts. The concert is conducted by Mark P. Johnson, director of bands. Admission is free and the concert is open to the public.

Music on the program includes Overture to Nabucco by Giuseppe Verdi with arrangement by Kenneth Singleton, Divertimento for Band by Vincent Persichetti and Temperance by Aaron Perrine.

Other concert selections include Harmony Heaven by C.L. Barnhouse with arrangement by John P Paynter, Silent Night in Gotham by Franz Gruber with arrangement by Julie Giroux and Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson.

The Wilkes University Civic Band comprises Wilkes University student musicians and local adult and student musicians from the community.
