Wilkes University Flute Ensemble Presents "Earth and Sky" Concert on Dec. 7

Wilkes-Barre, PA (11/13/2019) — The Wilkes University Flute Ensemble will present the concert "Earth and Sky." The performance is Dec. 7 at 8 pm. on the main stage of the Dorothy Dickson Darte Center for the Performing Arts at Wilkes University. Admission is free and the concert is open to the public.

The concert will feature moments from "Colors of the Wind" from Pocahontas by A. Menken and S. Schwartz, as well as "Let There Be Peace on Earth" by S. Miller and J. Jackson with arrangement by Ricky Lombardo.

The program includes "Pennsylvania Polka," "As Eagles Flew" by Phyllis Avidan Louke, "Traffic Jam" by Ricky Lombardo and "The Planets" by Gustav Holst.

The flute choir is directed by Alicia "Lish" Lindsey, piccoloist with the Capital Philharmonic Orchestra in New Jersey. Lindsey is an adjunct flute professor and flute ensemble director at Wilkes.
