Wilkes University Honors Power Engineering As 2017 Business Partner of the Year

Wilkes-Barre, PA (02/12/2018) — Wilkes University honored Wilkes-Barre mechanical contractor Power Engineering Corporation as its 2017 Business Partner of the Year. The firm was among five finalists for the award, which was established to recognize partner organizations that demonstrate outstanding quality, value and service to Wilkes University.

Power Engineering was selected for their role in several recent projects at Wilkes. Most notably, Power Engineering handled the design and construction of the mechanical systems in the University's newest facility at 141 South Main Street, home to the Karambelas Media and Communication Center and the Sordoni Art Gallery.

"I am so pleased to honor Power Engineering as our 2017 Business Partner of the Year," said University President Patrick F. Leahy. "We continue to make significant enhancements to our campus, and Power Engineering has exceeded expectations with their results and professionalism. They are an important partner and we look forward to continuing our work together."

Accepting on behalf of Power Engineering was President Tara Mugford Wilson and Vice President Tom Fritz.

"I want to thank all of the business partners who made this year a successful one at Wilkes University."

Finalists for the award were Discovery Education, an educational media organization of Silver Spring, Maryland; Cocciardi and Associates Inc., an occupational health and safety firm in Jessup; David Sheydwasser, Architect of Kingston; and PNC Capital Markets LLC. All of the companies were recognized at an event at the University on Jan. 24.
