Wilkes University Pre-Professional Society Raise Funds for Catherine McAuley Center

The Wilkes University Pre-Professional Society in the College of Science and Engineering raised funds for the Catherine McAuley Center in the amount of $500. Students coordinated several fundraising activities during this academic year.

"We are very grateful to the Pre-Professional Society of College of Science and Engineering at Wilkes University for making such a generous commitment to the Catherine McAuley Center," said executive director Sr. Therese Marques. "As the number of homeless families continues to grow, we depend on the support of a giving community to sustain our mission and programs."

The Pre-Professional Society works to promote professional development of students within the College of Science and Engineering. The group collaborates with Wilkes University students, personnel and local community organizations to provide programming and opportunities that will foster student success at Wilkes and prepare students for their future careers.

A local nonprofit organization, the Catherine McAuley Center has responded to the needs of homeless women and children in Lackawanna and Luzerne counties since 1984 by providing housing and supportive services.
