Wilkes University student pharmacists Rachel Wood and Katelyn Jimison from the Wilkes University Nesbitt School of Pharmacy, participated in the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association annual Pharmacy Legislative Day on April 16. Held at the Capital Complex, over 250 students attended to help fight for fair reimbursement. While there, they presented an information board on medication disposal. It explained the importance of proper medication disposal while handing out bags which are used to safely dispose medications.

Students in Wilkes University's Nesbitt School of Pharmacy attended Pennsylvania Pharmacy Day at the capitol in Harrisburg on April 19.

The Wilkes University Enactus Team earned another regional championship at the organization's competition in Washington, D.C. on March 30. The team also was invited to participate in the organization's national competition, planned for May 21 - 23 in Kansas City, Mo. Enactus is a community of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to enable human progress and establish student programs on campuses across the nation. Enactus students apply business concepts to develop community outreach projects, transform lives and shape a better, more sustainable world.

Twenty-seven Wilkes University 2016 Doctor of Pharmacy graduates will pursue post-graduate training across the country, which represents more than one-third of the graduating class and the most graduates ever placed. Ninety percent of the Wilkes pharmacy students who entered the match got into a residency program, which is higher than the national average of 66 percent.

Wilkes University senior Allison Simenkiewicz, from Endicott, N.Y., was a student winner in the American Advertising Federation of Northeastern Pennsylvania's 2015/16 American Advertising Awards. Simenkiewicz took home a silver award in the poster campaign category for her "Firefly" poster.

Wilkes University and the Keystone Northeast Chapter of the Pennsylvania Society for Professional Engineers conducted the Order of the Engineer ceremony, inducting 55 Wilkes senior engineering majors into the order on April 3, 2016.
