Wilkes University's Air Force ROTC Detachment 752 has announced the commissioning of officers in the Class of 2022. Six graduating students received the rank of 2nd lieutenant in the United States Air Force. The newly commissioned officers earned bachelor's degrees at Wilkes University on May 21, 2022.

Students from Wilkes University, King's College, Marywood, Penn State Wilkes-Barre, Misericordia University, University of Scranton and East Stroudsburg University were commissioned and received the rank of second lieutenant in the United States Air Force.

The commissioning ceremony was hosted on Dec. 6 by Air Force ROTC Detachment 752 at Wilkes. The event was held in the Henry Student Center and was attended by family, friends and staff.

Wilkes University AFROTC Cadet Kaitlynne Young Earns Commission at Dec. 4 Ceremony

Wilkes University senior Kaitlynne Young of Hawley, Pa., was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force during a Dec. 4 ceremony. The commissioning ceremony was held in the ballroom of the Henry Student Center. Young, who will graduate in January with a degree in accounting, earned her commission through the University's Air Force ROTC Detachment. After graduation, she will be stationed at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Texas, and will serve as an Air Force Intelligence Officer.
