Wilkes University Student Pharmacist Finalists in Pharmacy Patient Counseling Competition

Student pharmacists Ashley Robold and Terra Landis of the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy at Wilkes University were finalists in the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association's (PPA) 2017 "Know Pain Know Gain" Pharmacy Patient Counseling Competition, which took place during PPA's mid-year conference on Jan. 28 in Lancaster, Pa. Founded in 1878, the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association is a professional membership organization of more than 2,300 pharmacists and pharmacy students across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The Passan School of Nursing at Wilkes University Hosts Professional Induction Ceremony for Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The Passan School of Nursing at Wilkes University hosts the Professional Induction Ceremony as a way to recognize incoming nursing students who have demonstrated basic competency in safety, communication, and basic skills in the nursing simulation center. During the ceremony, students receive their Passan School of Nursing white lab coat for clinical training and sign The Nursing Code of Ethics.

Ten Wilkes University students have been selected to be Kirby Scholars by the Allan P. Kirby Center for Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship. The Kirby Scholars are top-performers in accounting, marketing, legal, product development, and project management. The Scholars provide services to the businesses at the center's business incubator, and receive valuable experience in their field of study and formal recognition of their work.

Wilkes University Post-Graduate Residencies for Pharmacy Graduates

Twenty-seven Wilkes University 2016 Doctor of Pharmacy graduates will pursue post-graduate training across the country, which represents more than one-third of the graduating class and the most graduates ever placed. Ninety percent of the Wilkes pharmacy students who entered the match got into a residency program, which is higher than the national average of 66 percent.
